Netsmart Technologies Signs $1,700,000 Upgrade Contract With the State of
Minnesota
Netsmart Will Implement Its Avatar Suite of Products
GREAT RIVER, N.Y., March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Netsmart Technologies,
Inc. , a leading supplier of enterprise-wide software for health and human
services providers through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Creative Socio-Medics
(Creative), today announced that Creative has been awarded a $1,700,000
five-year contract by the State of Minnesota's Department of Human Resources.
The upgrade contract includes professional services, software licenses, and
maintenance agreements to install the Avatar suite of human services software,
specifically the Avatar practice management, computerized physician order entry
(CPOE), and personal digital assistant (PDA) products.

The Minnesota DHS provides an array of services and support to certain
individuals with mental illness, chemical dependency, traumatic brain injuries,
developmental disabilities, and persons in need of nursing facility level of
care. These individuals are served throughout the State at owned and operated
campuses, and through a network of community based facilities. A total of eight
inpatient campus facilities with over 160 physicians and 2,000 utilized beds
serve over 5,000 admissions annually. The dollar volume generated in excess of
$145 million per year. In addition, another 5,000 patients receive outpatient,
group home, day training and habilitation (DT&H), crisis, and other services by
the network annually. Group homes and crisis services produce additional revenue
in excess of $34 million.
