Natrol, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTOL), a leading manufacturer and marketer of
nationally branded nutritional products, announced that it has entered
into a joint venture with a group of Chinese businessmen to develop an
operational platform in China for sales, marketing and distribution of
the Company’s products.
Wayne Bos, Natrol’s President and CEO,
commented “We believe that the market
opportunity for our products in China and the Asian region is extremely
compelling. Chinese culture has, for thousands of years, understood and
accepted the wisdom of herbs for wellness. The combination of this
traditional affinity for healthy-living products and the capabilities of
our leading brands across an array of products are a natural fit. While
this effort will take time to properly develop and it is not expected to
be meaningful to our results over the near term, we are planting the
seeds for future growth. We have known our joint venture partners in
this effort for many years and are impressed with their track record,
which includes a number of successful business endeavors. We look
forward to this project. We believe that Natrol has the opportunity to
be a global leader in the wellness market and this is an excellent step
in that direction.”
