Enerkem partners with the Université de Sherbrooke to create a new leadership program

MONTREAL, Oct. 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Enerkem Inc. (www.enerkem.com), a waste-to-biofuels and chemicals company, today announced that it is partnering with the Université de Sherbrooke to create a leadership and skills development program designed to train Enerkem's employees and develop its future leaders.

We created the Enerkem Academy to offer them a comprehensive professional development program where we consolidate our entire training, knowledge sharing and succession development component, as well as this leadership program."

Tomorrow, Enerkem Academy's inaugural cohort will participate in the first of a series of eight seminars, to be offered alternatively at the University's two campuses in Sherbrooke and Longueuil.

The leadership training program was developed with the Centre universitaire de formation continue of the Université de Sherbrooke (CUFC).  The mandate of this continuing education centre is to give companies access to all of the University's expertise.  CUFC is recognized for its expertise in the development of customized training and works with teams of specialists in content and pedagogical approaches.

Over the years, Enerkem and the Université de Sherbrooke have developed close ties, which are being reaffirmed today.  Esteban Chornet, Enerkem's Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, is also a Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Engineering and taught at the Université de Sherbrooke from 1970 to 2007.
