MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONEE), a leading provider of
collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the
value chain(TM) and The vdR Group, Inc., announce that they have
received certification by Autodesk(R) for an integration between
Autodesk Inventor(R) and the MatrixOne(R) PLM platform as part of a
newly released MatrixOne application called MatrixOne Designer
Central(TM). The integration was developed for MatrixOne by the vdR
Group, a long time MatrixOne certified development partner.
Autodesk Inventor is the world's best selling 3D mechanical design
software. Autodesk Inventor certified products ensure that the highest
level of interoperability exists--and that the integration is based on
the Autodesk Inventor API (application programming interface)
standards. Certified applications have met the guidelines and testing
criteria established by Autodesk and further demonstrate high-quality
and up-to-date compatibility.
MatrixOne Designer Central is a comprehensive design data
management application that allows a company's product designers to
collaborate with each other and with their suppliers in a single
system--regardless of the design tools being used by each partner.
Designer Central allows users to create workspaces for simple ad hoc
collaboration between project team members. Through its unique and
open architecture, the new MatrixOne Designer Central application can
be deployed and supported from a central location, while the design
files can be securely distributed and synchronized around the world
for optimal performance.
"Getting our partners, such as the vdR Group, to have their
integrations certified with Autodesk Inventor is ultimately great news
for our customers," said Richard Runnells, senior manager, Partner
Programs at Autodesk. "Users can be assured that the same standards of
product quality we want for Autodesk Inventor are being extended to
the integration with the MatrixOne PLM suite of solutions."
"Achieving Autodesk certification is always rewarding for our
team," said Martin van der Roest, president of the vdR Group. "As long
time partners of both Autodesk and MatrixOne, we strive for the
highest quality possible in the products we build for MatrixOne, so
that our mutual customers can focus on their work and not be concerned
about things falling through the cracks between these various
applications."
With MatrixOne Designer Central and the Autodesk Inventor
integration, users can:
-- Visually collaborate around the design information or other
information related to the design;
-- Schedule meetings for review at any step in the development
process;
-- Securely provide design information to suppliers and
customers;
-- Create private and public workspaces for organizing and
sharing designs;
-- Manage local workspaces in the context of the PLM system;
-- Upload complex, multi-tiered, design hierarchies into
MatrixOne;
-- Recursively check out complex, multi-tiered designs into
Autodesk Inventor or onto disk;
-- Apply full revision and version control to all Autodesk
Inventor models; and
-- Alert users with design change notifications to their current
work.
"With the MatrixOne - Autodesk Inventor integration to Designer
Central, our customers can get the design right the first time--by
allowing early visibility and feedback to everyone involved in the
design and overall product development processes," said Mark
Bierschied, director of Integrated eBusiness Solutions for MatrixOne.
"By providing real-time access to product designs, we expect that
companies will be able to enhance collaboration across the value
chain, speeding time to market and cutting development costs."
The MatrixOne Autodesk Inventor integration is immediately
available from MatrixOne.
