Leader in Products and Systems for Electrical Installations and
Information Networks Deploys MatrixOne PLM Platform Globally; Allows
Dispersed Teams to Effectively Collaborate on Product Development
Efforts
MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONEE), a leading provider of
collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the
value chain(TM), today announced that the Legrand Group, the world
specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and
information networks, has selected the MatrixOne PLM platform as the
cornerstone of its product development environment. To be deployed
throughout the Legrand Group, the MatrixOne solution will enable the
Group's international product development teams to access, organize
and share critical new product development information in real-time.
The decision to select the MatrixOne PLM platform was driven by a
number of factors including Legrand's requirements for scalability,
collaboration, ease-of-use and personalization.
"The MatrixOne solution is extremely user-friendly, with a much
more natural man/machine interface than our previous solution," said
Jean-Paul Chanal, the PDM project manager for Legrand. "Its
ease-of-use is an important point worth highlighting, as we are now
able to share data via our intranet across all the sites of the Group,
using a standard IT architecture. Another decisive criterion was the
high level of personalization possible. We need a solution that can
adapt to the company's requirements, and MatrixOne delivers that
flexibility. We now have the capacity internally to execute specific
settings and configurations as required."
"The MatrixOne platform saves us an enormous amount of time at the
design and concept stages," continues Chanal. "Not only because of the
ease of use, but also thanks to the reliable distribution of product
data to our global teams. The fact that everyone has access to the
most recent version makes file management much less time-consuming and
labour-intensive. Furthermore, by integrating our mechanical and
electronic CAO solutions, we can synchronize product design across
engineering disciplines. The whole product development process thereby
becomes more efficient and less costly--and we reduce our
time-to-market. That is the real added value of the MatrixOne
solution."
"By deploying the MatrixOne platform, Legrand is enabling its
geographically dispersed work teams to collaborate better and stay
connected through access to real-time information," said Henri
Carasso, General Manager for MatrixOne Southern Europe. "This
eliminates communication barriers and drives faster decision-making,
delivering higher levels of quality and innovation, and ultimately
giving Legrand a competitive advantage over other players in the
market."
