Magna-Lastic Devices, Inc. (MDI), a Methode Electronics, Inc. company,
announces a new application of its non-contact sensor that measures
load, force or weight, serving a wide variety of markets including
industrial and automotive. This new sensor application was developed
using Magna-Lastic Devices’ patented
technology, which has been successfully applied in a wide variety of
process measurement applications.
The new sensor, adapted from MDI technology, provides measurement
solutions for load, force, or weight, from 0 - 20 lbs and up through 200
tons. The measurement does not drift over time, operates reliably within
wide temperature changes, and can withstand excessive vibration and high
impact environments. The sensing device does not require any
recalibration or re-certification after production. The sensors are
designed as custom application specific solutions for each client’s
requirements for performance, resolution, footprint, enclosure (from
IP55 to IP67), and communication options (including analog, serial, or
digital).
Applications that can benefit from use of this technology are:
automotive, off-road equipment, machinery, continuous weight scales,
portable scales, occupant sensors, conveyor systems, and critical
industrial grade measurement devices.
As this is a custom solution defined by the needs of each client,
pricing and delivery will vary depending on specific application
requirements.
