McDATA Corporation (Nasdaq:MCDTA)(Nasdaq:MCDT), a leading provider of
data access solutions, today announced its professional services group
has reached the 300+ milestone for data center moves. IT managers who
need to relocate their data centers can turn to McDATA Corporation to
ensure a smooth, trouble-free transition.
McDATA’s experienced services team can help IT
managers assess whether a move would make sense. If a move is necessary,
customers can engage McDATA services for best-practices guidance in
executing the migration, or may choose to use McDATA services to manage
every aspect of the move. Utilizing the experience of McDATA’s
team reduces the time required to make the move and lowers the risk of
data loss or corruption. Additionally, McDATA services can help IT
managers, like Ardent Health Services' Tim Beasley, plan for future
storage and SAN migration and consolidation, for additional investment
protection over time.
“It quickly became apparent that in order to
meet the company’s business objectives, and
reduce TCO around data center operations, we had to make a quick change
in course with respect to the overall project management of our
initiative,” said Beasley, Ardent Health
Services’ director of operations and support. “Relocating
hardware that supports mission-critical, 24/7 medical applications is
not a trivial task. Porting an existing implementation presented new
challenges in coordination of both internal IT resources and business
partner resources.”
Each migration is unique so McDATA services tailors every project to the
specific needs of the customer. To date, McDATA has helped more than 100
companies overcome challenges such as short time frames and the need to
support non-stop operations. These services allow customers to reduce
move times and improve accuracy, lowering their risk. McDATA can also
provide a pool of swing equipment as well as temporary or permanent
telecommunications bandwidth to implement and execute the relocation.
“McDATA is the only vendor in the storage
networking market today to provide comprehensive data center relocations,”
said McDATA Chief Operating Officer Todd Oseth. “McDATA
is committed to providing products and services that give customers
easier access to data. More than 300 successful data center relocations
and a clear pattern of repeat business is a tremendous compliment that
we are indeed meeting and exceeding our customers' expectations."
