Wanadoo Signs Digital Music Contract for Loudeye's OD2 Services - Wanadoo expands online Music Club service to Spain and the Netherlands, continuing its involvement in providing legal digital music on the internet and further increasing the company's European broadband market leadership. PARIS, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Wanadoo, a France Telecom brand and European leader in broadband Internet access, and Loudeye Corp. (NASDAQ:LOUD), a worldwide leader in business-to-business digital media solutions, today announced a new contract confirming OD2, a Loudeye company, as the preferred content provider of digital audio music for Wanadoo services in Europe. Under the agreement, Wanadoo will continue operating its OD2-powered online Music Club in France and in the UK, while expanding into Spain and the Netherlands in November 2004. As a result, Wanadoo now offers its more than 3 million Broadband subscribers a service to legally download high quality digital music. Additionally, Wanadoo will offer the OD2 Music Manager Application, a proprietary plug-in for Microsoft Windows Media Player that offers the customer a personalized friendly interface and the ability to stream individual tracks. Olivier Sichel, Vice-President of France Telecom Home Communications Services, said, "with this new pan-European offer, Wanadoo has strengthened its European involvement in legal music distribution on the internet. Our music services are important to our broadband users and we look forward to rolling out the OD2 services into new countries as well as expanding our current offering to leverage new and exciting digital music features". As part of the offer, Wanadoo will launch an unlimited on demand streaming package. For euro 7.99 per month, users will be able to play as many full length tracks as they want to in hi-fi quality. 400,000 tracks will be available from pounds Sterling 0.69/ 0.99 euro - for a limited promotional period.
