ITEM 8.01    OTHER EVENTS.

On May 21, 2017, La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that results of the ATHOS-3 ( A ngiotensin II for the  T reatment of  H igh- O utput  S hock) Phase 3 study of LJPC-501 (angiotensin II) have been published online by The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
