Lexar Media, Inc. (Nasdaq:LEXR), a leader in advanced
digital media and accessories, today announced its sponsorship of the
Microsoft(R) conference for Windows(R) professionals - WinHEC 2006
(Windows Hardware Engineering Conference).
Lexar to Demonstrate Innovative New Applications for USB Drives
At WinHEC 2006, Lexar will demonstrate two major breakthroughs in
the USB flash drive arena, including Lexar's PowerToGo(TM) solution, a
new software product that creates a portable working environment for
users, as well as the company's first enterprise-class USB Personal
Storage Device (PSD), the SAFE PSD S1100. PowerToGo software enables

select Lexar JumpDrive(R) products, providing a solution to enable
applications on-the-go. The SAFE PSD S1100 features a multi-layered
security architecture that includes Lexar's PSD-Lock technology, an
embedded device access control technology designed to enable USB
device locking, plus onboard 256-bit "on-the-fly" AES hardware
encryption and tamper-evident housing.
WinHEC 2006 is geared toward professionals focused on the Windows
hardware platform and takes place at the Seattle Convention Center
from May 22nd - 25th. Lexar is providing for attendees a 256 MB flash
drive, pre-loaded with content allowing them to experience various
examples of usage models for USB flash drives, including connection to
the WLAN at WinHEC.
"Lexar is proud to continue its history of support for WinHEC,
which is an important convention of professionals," said Steffen
Hellmold, Lexar VP & GM UFD BU. "This year we will once again be
bringing the latest breakthroughs in USB flash drive technology that
will enable new applications and usage models contributing to the
continuous growth of the market."
Also at WinHEC 2006, Lexar will present an informative session
entitled "USB Flash Drives: Protecting Data, Enhancing Storage,"
scheduled for Wednesday from 11am to 12pm. Featuring a demonstration,
the Lexar session will cover a USB lockable storage technology,
focusing on the architecture for creating lockable UFDs, as well as a
discussion of how additional features can be added to lockable UFDs
and how the USB lockable storage technology could be expanded to other
