CINCINNATI, June 30  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LCA-Vision Inc. (NASDAQ:LCAV), a
leading provider of laser vision correction services under the LasikPlus brand,
announced today that Dr. Jay M. Lustbader, M.D., a board- certified
ophthalmologist and one of the company's Medical Directors at its LasikPlus
vision centers located in the Washington D.C. metro area, has been appointed to
serve as the Chairman of the Ophthalmology department at Georgetown University
Hospital effective July 1, 2005. Dr. Lustbader has been a surgeon with
LasikPlus since 2000, and has been a member of the medical staff at Georgetown
University Hospital since 1992.

Dr. Lustbader was one of the first surgeons to use the excimer laser in the
Baltimore/Washington area after its approval for use by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) in the United States in 1995. Dr. Lustbader has authored
or co-authored many original papers, abstracts and book chapters, is an active
lecturer and has spoken at numerous symposiums on refractive surgery. He is a
member of numerous medical and ophthalmic professional organizations, including
the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology, the American Academy
of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and
the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is also on the
American Board of Ophthalmology's Task Force of Program Directors, an
organization that develops and implements general competencies into
ophthalmology. Dr. Lustbader also serves on the review boards of the Archives
of Ophthalmology, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, and is a peer reviewer
for the Board of Physician Quality Assurance of the Maryland Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene. Other professional activities include serving as a
media representative for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2002, Dr.
Lustbader was voted one of the "Top Doctors" in ophthalmology in the Washington
D.C. area.

Dr. Lustbader received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School
of Medicine, and completed his internship at Greater Baltimore Medical Center,
and his ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins University's Wilmer Eye
Institute.
