Latitude Introduces 'MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0' Rich-media Presentation & Training Product Gets Top Report Card From UC Berkeley SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Latitude Communications , a leading provider of fully integrated web and voice conferencing applications, today introduced MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0(R). The new solution allows business and education professionals to create and publish rich-media content themselves using PowerPoint, saving significant time and money compared to working with alternative solutions or media specialists. Unlike other rich media content publishing products, MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0 is an extensible enterprise-class solution that enables users to publish animated content offline or online, insert interactive surveys into PowerPoint, and create Flash content from files created on Macintosh or personal computers. Users produce PowerPoint presentations and convert them to Flash for e-learning, sales demos and marketing communications, speeding content production and delivery, whether shared live in a MeetingPlace web conference or at the audience's convenience. "After a six-month evaluation of competing solutions, we chose MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0 to support our teaching initiatives and ongoing migration of course content online. We found it superior in its ability to convert content to Flash offline or online, and to upload material created on both Macs and PCs," said Mara Hancock, manager of the learning systems group, University of California at Berkeley. "Our professors are creating dynamic material that students view online before class, enabling class time to be more interactive. We plan to also leverage the solution for online course delivery. Using iCreate, we will save money, empower instructors to create rich media content, and provide faster, more dynamic delivery of course material to our students." MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0 users also gain: -- Easy insertion of audio, video and interactive elements -- such as quizzes, surveys and feedback forms -- into PowerPoint slides -- Content that integrates with back-end systems via a highly customizable platform -- Up to 90 percent reduction in file size, easing e-learning storage and bandwidth -- Support for key learning management standards including SCORM and AICC -- Tracking, reporting and management of online content "Using MeetingPlace iCreate, training and marketing personnel at PeopleSoft, Cisco, Motorola and over 100 other organizations have significantly reduced the time and expense of creating rich-media content for web-based training, sales presentations and other professional communication," said Bill Odell, Latitude's vice president of marketing. "We're pleased that enterprises are greatly reducing the cost of producing and delivering training and presentations using our powerful, easy-to-use Flash publishing technology." MeetingPlace iCreate 2.0 is available as an enterprise-licensed solution deployed on a customer's site, and as a standalone end-user solution called the "Desktop Edition."
