Larscom Showcases VoIP-Ready Integrated Access Solutions for
Small and Medium Business at SuperComm
Larscom's Latest eLink IAD Products Will Combine Advanced Features With Ease of
Use to Deliver Cost-Effective VoIP and TDM Deployment, Intelligent Automatic
Installation, and Software-Based Scalability and Feature Activation
NEWARK, Calif., June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Larscom (NASDAQ:LARS), a
market leader and pioneer with more than 80,000 installed Integrated Access
Devices (IAD's) worldwide, today announced that it will showcase its latest
solution -- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)-ready IAD's -- at Booth # 25920
at the SuperComm trade show June 21-24. As service providers respond to the
interest of small and medium business in VoIP and its potential cost savings,
Larscom's solution will allow them to deliver VoIP and continue to support
traditional TDM services with a single, cost-effective device.
By allowing the packet-based delivery of voice services, VoIP provides a new,
lower-cost access solution for businesses that need to link remote offices.
Larscom eLink IAD's will include sophisticated QOS and call-admission control
to maintain packet voice quality. These solutions will allow service providers
to deliver the right combination of VoIP services, data services, and
traditional telephony services that meet the customer's needs, in a single IAD,
that also delivers Larscom's hallmark ease of use and ease of management.
Enhanced Operations, Administration, Management & Provisioning (OAM&P) software
will allow these solutions to be seamlessly integrated into existing network.
This suite of operation and management tools simplify maintenance and
diagnostics with features including more finely-tuned control of IP sessions
with a configurable Network Address Translator (NAT) expiration time, more
efficient use of IP address capacity with classless IP addressing, Telnet
client pass-through for more convenient management of devices installed behind
the IAD at the customer premises, and secure management access to the IAD with
a configurable IP loopback interface.
A key element of these solutions is AutoCAP, an automated discovery feature
that significantly reduces the number of truck rolls and time required for
installation, provisioning, and upgrading. In addition, the ePorts feature
allows customers to purchase just the port capacity that is currently needed,
then add capacity as needs grow by purchasing additional port licenses.
Larscom's solution will also offer call admission control and quality of
service (QOS) software to ensure performance for all voice services.
"Carrier-class VoIP readiness further strengthens Larscom's product offering in
the IAD market," said Gurdip Jande, Larscom VP of Marketing. "These solutions
allow service providers to easily integrate new revenue-generating VoIP
offerings along with their existing TDM and data services."
