Charleston Naval Hospital Implements CodingANYware(TM) to Improve
Claims Processing and Reduce System Inefficiencies
LanVision and TSystems Group Combine Complimentary Solutions to Accelerate Cash
Flow
CINCINNATI and LORTON, Va., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TSystems Group
(TSG) & LanVision Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:LANV) today announced that the pilot
project at Charleston Naval Hospital to implement LanVision's web-based coding
workflow solution, codingANYware(TM), has been determined successful.
LanVision's codingANYware software, combined with TSG's definitive
understanding of DoD's healthcare revenue cycle, was demonstrated to accelerate
government claims processing with the capability to reduce coding
inefficiencies and backlogs. In addition, Charleston Naval Hospital was able to
implement the system quickly without the technology investment, personnel
costs, and risk of obsolescence normally associated with installing a
proprietary system.
According to Terry Connors, President of TSG's Healthcare Services Group, "The
implementation of this innovative technology solution will help improve
reimbursements for services rendered to those persons having other healthcare
insurance. Further, we will be able to eliminate un-coded chart backlogs and
enhance diagnostic coding procedures. Our mission is to help Charleston Naval
Hospital and all military medical treatment facilities (MTFs) maximize the
returns on its existing environment, through the adoption of new technologies
and staffing strategies for enhanced quality of care."
"We are pleased that Charleston Naval Hospital has partnered with LanVision and
TSG to enhance the accuracy and timely information flow using this advanced
coding workflow solution to streamline their reimbursement processes,"
according to Brian Patsy, President and CEO of LanVision. "By bringing its
vital business processes in sync with new technologies, Charleston Naval
Hospital can now create a higher level of patient care while improving
productivity and accelerating cash flows," Mr. Patsy commented further.
Rosie Goble, TSG's Corporate Vice President, said, "As a government healthcare
facility, Charleston Naval Hospital's mission is to guarantee the management of
comprehensive healthcare delivery. The LanVision and TSG solution bridges the
gap between current, labor intensive paper-based processes and
transaction-based information systems by electronically capturing healthcare
documentation from disparate sources, electronically directing that information
through medical record coding processes and providing access to the electronic
medical record by authenticated users across the continuum of care. We look
forward to offering this cost-saving system to all DoD and VA MTFs."

About LanVision: LanVision is a healthcare information technology company
focused on digitally streamlining healthcare by providing solutions that
improve document-centric information flows while complementing and enhancing
existing transaction-centric healthcare information systems. The Company's
workflow and document management solutions bridge the gap between current,
inefficient paper-based processes and transaction-based healthcare information
systems by 1) electronically capturing document-centric information from
disparate sources, 2) electronically directing that information through vital
business processes, and 3) providing access to the information for
authenticated users (such as physicians, nurses, administrative and financial
personnel and payers) across the continuum of care.
The company's workflow-based products and services offer unique solutions to
specific healthcare business processes within the Medical Record life cycle and
the revenue cycle, such as remote coding, abstracting and chart completion,
remote physician order processing, pre-admission registration scanning,
insurance verification, denial management, secondary billing services,
explanation of benefits processing and release of information processing.
LanVision's products and services also create an integrated document- centric
repository of historical health information that is complementary and can be
seamlessly "bolted on" to existing transaction-centric clinical, financial and
management information systems, allowing healthcare providers to aggressively
move toward fully Electronic Medical Record (EMR) processes while improving
service levels and convenience for all stakeholders. These integrated systems
allow providers and administrators to dramatically improve the availability of
patient information while decreasing direct costs associated with document
retrieval, work-in-process, chart completion, document retention and archiving.
LanVision's systems can be provided on a subscription basis via remote hosting
services or installed locally. LanVision provides ASPeN, ASP-based remote
hosting services to The University Hospital, a member of The Health Alliance of
