John Hancock Financial Trends Fund, Inc. Changes Name to 'Financial Trends Fund, Inc.'

BOSTON, Nov. 20  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of John Hancock Financial Trends Fund, Inc. (NASDAQ:JHFT) (the "Fund") approved a change in the Fund's name to "Financial Trends Fund, Inc." (NASDAQ:DHFT). In connection with the name change, the Fund's trading symbol is changed to "DHFT."  These changes are effective beginning today on NASDAQ.

As previously announced, Diamond Hill Capital Management, Inc. will assume the duties of investment adviser and administrator of the Fund on or about December 1, 2007.

The Fund is a diversified, closed-end fund. The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation with current income as a secondary objective by investing at least 80% of its assets in stocks of U.S. and foreign financial services companies of any size.
