JDA® Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS) today announced that two JDA customers were recognized by the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions Association (VICS) for supply chain excellence and innovation during the 12th annual Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards. Lowe’s Companies, Inc. and Rite Aid, in collaboration with Kimberly Clark, received 2009 awards for the Retail Excellence and VICS CPFR® Implementation Excellence categories, respectively.

Widely considered to be one of the most prestigious recognition programs, the VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards honor companies that champion retailer-supplier collaboration and demonstrate leadership in finding new ways to reduce costs, delays and inefficiencies within the supply chain. The 2009 award ceremony was held on June 3 at the U Connect conference in Orlando, Fla.

“Winning the Retail Excellence award is acknowledgement of our efforts to provide exceptional service to our stores by continually improving supply chain planning, forecasting, and execution systems and processes,” said LeRoy Allen, Lowe’s vice president of logistics planning. “Recognition from the VICS organization confirms the remarkable success that we have been able to achieve with the use of JDA’s Demand, Fulfillment and Transportation Management solutions.”

Rite Aid’s Dan Loudermilk, director of replenishment, said, “We are proud to be named a VICS CPFR Implementation Excellence award winner. This award is validation of the new and innovative collaborative planning model we use with our trading partner, Kimberly Clark. We are also pleased to be recognized for the joint forecasting, visibility and replenishment planning results that we have realized with the support of JDA’s Marketplace Replenish solution.”

Open to all VICS members and non-members, winners of the Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards are selected based on votes submitted by the VICS Board of Directors. Commenting on what distinguished Lowe’s and Rite Aid/Kimberly Clark from other nominees, David Johnston, JDA senior vice president of supply chain solutions, stated, “JDA solutions that enable collaboration between trading partners and supply chain efficiency help to provide value that is unmatched in the marketplace. By capitalizing on our solution offering capabilities, we enable our customers to achieve mutually beneficial ROI objectives with partners by measuring and guiding their programs through key metrics, developing patterns of trust and communication, as well as embracing a willingness to improve and align their strategies. We congratulate Lowe’s and Rite Aid/Kimberly Clark on winning this award for their respective categories, and look forward to helping them and other companies create more effective supply chain partnerships.”
