JDA® Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS), The Supply Chain Company®, today announced a series of new innovations, which underscore its expanding leadership in the supply chain market. These new capabilities, derived from the multi-year product roadmap announced in April 2010, continue the heritage of market-leading innovations targeted specifically at creating real shareholder value through supply chain excellence.

“JDA’s product roadmap supports the convergence and ongoing enhancement of the industry’s leading solution offerings to provide our customers with the most comprehensive, integrated supply chain solutions,” said Raghav Keshav, chief product officer, JDA Software. “We are continuing to execute on our innovation objectives in delivering the differentiating capabilities inherent in the JDA brand promise as The Supply Chain Company.”

The following represents select highlights of recent JDA software innovation and enhancements:

Sales & Operations Planning Convergence

To optimize performance and innovation, JDA’s solution set incorporates Oliver Wight’s methodology and consulting processes into the JDA Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) solution offering to drive a world-class integrated business planning and management program. Pursuant to joint design council development roadmap plans, the June 2011 release of JDA Sales & Operations Management will include Oliver Wight Class-A S&OP methodology and will feature the management views, graphs, data streams and calculations that are aligned with Oliver Wight’s best practices. The Oliver Wight methodology designed into the software also represents completion of a key criterion in the company’s convergence strategy for the i2 Technologies-developed JDA Sales & Operations Management, just as was done with the JDA Executive Sales & Operations Planning Workbench. JDA Sales & Operations Planning capabilities help companies successfully conduct a repeatable end-to-end S&OP process that enables companies to align all functional plans and address critical gaps between latest projections, the business plan and strategy. This approach enables the right combination of process discipline and technology enablement to improve operational, financial and business performance.

Collaborative Evolution in Advanced Replenishment

JDA’s recent introduction of JDA® Advanced Marketplace Collaboration represents a new evolution of collaboration in JDA advanced replenishment solutions. Offering the next generation of JDA Marketplace Replenish GUI, the new technology in JDA Advanced Marketplace Collaboration provides collaborative partners with a direct link into the JDA advanced replenishment systems via JDA Marketplace. This advancement means that both retailer and wholesaler-distributor hosts and their supplier partners are seamlessly in sync with the same real-time data and functionality for more streamlined, effective communication and improved collaboration.

Raising the Bar in Forecasting and Replenishment

JDA® Demand and JDA® Fulfillment enable the world’s leading retailers and suppliers to optimize supply chain decisions with integrated demand visibility and management along with the ability to profitably balance supply and demand for cost savings. JDA Demand and JDA Fulfillment version 7.7 raise the bar on these industry-proven solutions and reinforce JDA’s position as an industry leader. Architectural enhancements enable unparalleled economical scalability and processing times proven at 200 million demand forecasting units/stock-keeping units without compromising the supply chain differentiating depth of functionality these solutions are known for. Additional key enhancements within JDA Fulfillment include the ability to combine multiple sources, multiple destinations and a combination thereof to optimize ordering and transportation efficiencies as well as a new and improved load manager workbench that provides a balanced, consolidated workspace for more efficient and effective load building.

Transportation & Logistics Management Convergence and Innovation

JDA’s recent Transportation & Logistics Management version 6.3.4 release represents the next step in JDA’s transportation convergence roadmap and reinforces the company’s ongoing innovation in this world-class solution set to further drive integrated planning and execution:

  • Inbound visibility with freight order management integration: Integrating the Manugistics-developed JDA® Freight Order Management into a joint platform that leverages the suite’s i2 and Manugistics solution heritage synergies enables shared data between the JDA transportation solutions and drives a more integrated, closed-loop set of processes. The integrated solution enables collaboration between vendors and shippers at the purchase-order level to effectively create an efficient inbound transportation plan.
  • New innovation to reinforce integrated planning and execution within JDA® Transportation Manager and JDA® Transportation Planner:
    • Ability to model fixed routes: Delivers a powerful hybrid capability that defines fixed plans/routes but also includes the flexibility to make opportunistic plan modifications as required.
    • Native parcel freight rate management: Delivers the ability to manage the parcel mode as a core service directly within the transportation management system to leverage advanced consolidation and modal shift opportunities without having to rely on third-party software.
    • Freight auction functionality: Creates a private freight auction portal to cover loads in a mini-marketplace where approved carriers can bid in a contained environment, enabling shippers to make more educated carrier decisions.
    • Dock scheduling and slot booking: Expands collaboration-based execution for more robust planning based on both dock and carrier availability. JDA’s intelligent front-end planning capabilities along with a schedule-replanning workflow and shipper-carrier communication into dock-level execution details create a powerful combination for both shippers and carriers.
