InfoVista (NASDAQ: IVTA; Euronext IFV - FR0004031649),
the leading service-centric performance management software company,
announced today that InTechnology, Europe's leading provider of data
storage, software, security, network solutions and managed services,
has chosen InfoVista's VistaInsight for Networks solution to improve
customer satisfaction and drive internal operational efficiencies
across its managed services division.
InfoVista's VistaInsight for Networks solution is a
next-generation performance management platform that provides insight
into real-time and historical service performance across
InTechnology's entire network. The solution uses a highly distributed
architecture to collect and process performance and quality metrics at
the edge of the network to deliver carrier-class scalability and
performance. Real-time processing of collected metrics results in
immediate rendering of performance reports and predictive alerting
that pre-empts impending service-level violations. Long-term
historical and trend data for customer reporting and capacity
optimisation are available via a centralized repository combining
technical and business information for superior correlation and
decision making. This information is used to provide InTechnology's
customers with accurate and timely reporting on service-level metrics
and address internal requirements for improved service assurance,
provisioning, billing and investment planning.
"InfoVista's service-centric approach to performance management
was selected following a back-to-back evaluation with Proviso, a
Micromuse/Quallaby product, on the basis of its unique real-time and
historical reporting capabilities and superior automation tools," said
Gary Lupton, OSS team leader, InTechnology. "We wanted a solution
which would be flexible enough to meet individual customer needs but
would require minimal technical input and external management.
InfoVista is ideal, as once the platform is installed and configured,
it pretty much runs itself."
The InfoVista solution collects baseline availability and
utilization data from across InTechnology's entire dedicated service
infrastructure, including its network and storage servers. This data
is then analyzed and displayed via a single, integrated portal
interface and dashboards for reporting on service metrics with service
type mapped to each individual resource. The InfoVista reports display
availability and service level agreement (SLA) compliance for each
service over the previous hour and can drilldown to live performance
data, collected at granular intervals.
As well as enabling InTechnology's network managers to carry out
troubleshooting and problem solving tasks, the SLA and performance
reports can also be accessed by customers via a personalized,
customer-branded portal to give them a better understanding of real
time service health, historical service performance and take proactive
action based on growth in infrastructure usage. For example,
InTechnology's service account managers use the data to put together
customer recommendations on capacity planning and right-sizing, based
on VistaInsight for Networks' proactive trending capabilities.
"As service providers come under growing pressure to increase
customer loyalty, differentiate their services and create new revenue
opportunities, the ability to provide service level monitoring and
performance management has become increasingly important," said Julien
Dahan, SVP Sales EMEA, InfoVista. "InTechnology is a prime example of
how organizations can benefit from enhanced customer satisfaction and
increased operational efficiencies through a genuine service-centric
performance management solution."
Beyond meeting current requirements, the InfoVista platform will
also play a key role in InTechnology's future plans to move towards a
service-oriented architecture. The global visibility, control and
powerful automation provided by InfoVista's solution architecture are
viewed as critical capabilities to enable this transformation.
