Kimberly-Clark Expands Relationship With iVillage Parenting
Network
NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iVillage Parenting Network, a
division of iVillage Inc. (NASDAQ:IVIL), today announced an expanded
relationship with Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE:KMB) through a charter
sponsorship of the new iVillage Childbirth Education Connection(TM) program.
Through its year-long sponsorship, the HUGGIES(R) brand
(http://www.huggiesbabynetwork.com/ ) will provide educational materials as
well as bath and body products to millions of expectant moms in childbirth
classes. The materials will provide moms-to-be correct procedures for bathing
and diapering infants through iVillage's network of more than 15,000 childbirth
educators.
"We care about our consumers and want to invest in their relationships with
their babies," said Mark Cammarota, director of marketing of North America Baby
Care at Kimberly-Clark. "HUGGIES(R) provides its consumers with baby care
solutions beyond just products, and partnering with the iVillage Childbirth
Education Connection(TM) is another effective way to make a difference in their
lives."
"We are excited about the launch of this new program and remain committed to
providing the best possible information and materials to help childbirth
educators teach their classes," said Gregg Zegras, Senior Vice President and
General Manager of iVillage Parenting Network. "HUGGIES(R) understands how
important these types of programs are in helping them build an emotional
connection with expectant and new moms."
The iVillage Childbirth Education Connection(TM) is slated to launch in July
2005. At that time, the HUGGIES(R) sponsorship will begin on a regional basis
and will be distributed nationally by early 2006. The program includes a
written lesson plan and video named, "Best of Care: Bathing & Diapering," which
will be showcased in childbirth education classrooms. Educators will also
receive 4-color, custom tear sheets to distribute to moms-to-be. The sheet will
include an easy-to-read overview of the class discussion, covering everything
from umbilical cord care, to bathing and diapering a newborn to six-month old.
In addition to the new program, HUGGIES(R) is also an anchor sponsor of
iVillage's Newborn Channel TV network, participates regularly in Lamaze
Parents, Lamaze para Padres and Baby Steps magazines, and also utilizes
