Historical Stock Chart
From Jan 2020 to Jan 2025
Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS) (NASDAQ: ISSX),
the worldwide leader in preemptive, enterprise security, and Crossbeam
Systems, the leader in unified threat management (UTM) for the world's
largest networks, today announced an alliance to deliver
industry-leading intrusion prevention on high-performance security
switches. Through this alliance, Crossbeam will incorporate ISS
Proventia(R) Network Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) technology into
its high-end UTM platforms to accommodate enterprise needs for fast,
highly scalable security solutions.
"The alliance with Crossbeam is a key extension of our 'Powered By
ISS' program and a direct response to market demand," said Tom Noonan,
president and CEO of Internet Security Systems. "ISS introduced the
program in May of this year to enable increased flexibility and
scalability in delivering best-of-breed security technologies to the
mainstream market. Through 'Powered By ISS,' we are supplying service
and technology providers with the full range of ISS tools, processes,
intelligence and support needed to protect customers from Internet
threats. Crossbeam is highly regarded in the carrier and service
provider markets and this alliance will strengthen ISS' position in
these key growth areas."
"Carrier and service provider organizations are increasingly
embracing the flexibility and simplicity that a high-end UTM solution
offers," said Peter George, president and CEO of Crossbeam Systems.
"These organizations demand best-of breed security applications
running on high-performance, purpose-built network security hardware.
Proventia Network IPS running on Crossbeam will enable both Crossbeam
and ISS to further penetrate the service provider and carrier
markets."
Crossbeam offers both enterprise-class and provider-class UTM
solutions. Recently, ISS has seen an increased demand among
telecommunications carriers and other service providers to deliver
centralized security to their end users as a market differentiator or
as a new revenue opportunity. Through the Crossbeam alliance and other
similar agreements, ISS will increasingly meet the needs of carriers
and service providers via the "Powered By ISS" program.
The "Powered By ISS" program is intended to extend the reach of
ISS preemptive security to a much broader market, allowing
participants to quickly and effectively meet customers' security and
regulatory compliance needs. Due to the versatility and open
architecture of the ISS protection platform, ISS has the ability to
provide the security backbone for a wide variety of organizations.
ISS Proventia Network IPS protects against both vulnerabilities
and exploits to effectively block known and unknown attacks before
impact, enabling organizations to prevent costly security breaches,
improve network availability and achieve regulatory compliance.
Through its proprietary Virtual Patch(R) technology, ISS protects
organizations from online attacks before they are able to obtain and
apply patches from affected vendors, in many cases translating into
protection from software flaws months before the affected vendor is
able to release a patch.
Crossbeam UTM solutions couple best-in-class security applications
with high-performance, purpose-built network security hardware. The
end result is massive appliance consolidation, eliminating up to 100
separate devices per Crossbeam security switch, and the ability to
build defense in depth infrastructures at a reasonable cost.
The ISS Proventia Network Intrusion Prevention System for
Crossbeam will be available to select customers beginning this
quarter. For further details, please visit Interop Booth #145 or go
