Announced at Kelsey Conference, Local.com Gains
Full-Service Sales Partner, While Qualified Advertisers are
Automatically Included in Jambo's Pay-Per-Call Network
Jambo (www.jambo.com), a leading provider of solutions that
effectively connect people by phone to businesses represented in
Internet search and directory listings, today announced an agreement
with Interchange Corporation (Nasdaq:INCX), owners and operators of
Local.com, a leading local search engine, to enable pay-per-call
capabilities for Local.com advertisers.
Jambo made the announcement at The Kelsey Group's Drilling Down on
Local event, held here through March 28th.
The agreement makes Jambo's patent-pending pay-per-call solutions
available to various categories of Local.com advertisers -- those
businesses that rely on the phone rather than walk-in traffic, like
plumbers, attorneys, etc. -- and adds Local.com to the Jambo
Advertising Network(TM) (JAN). As an aggregated sales channel, JAN
increases the number of phone leads advertisers receive by combining
the reach of multiple lead generators for a comprehensive approach.
Jambo is the only company to offer online and offline publishers a
full-service, embedded sales process that proactively sells to local
merchants on behalf of the publishers -- enabling them to reach
millions of local businesses for the first time. By becoming an
outsourced sales channel, Jambo brings a unique sales methodology that
includes branding Local.com by letting merchants know where phone
leads originated and building credibility by delivering phone leads
that turn into sales. Jambo then sells local merchants pay-per-call
advertising packages that enable performance marketing for companies
that don't have websites or that don't advertise online.
"Our partner network is generating huge call volumes, that is,
consumers using the phone when connecting with local merchants. And
those businesses want, and are satisfied paying for, those calls,"
said John Melideo, CEO and founder, Jambo. "Local.com is fast becoming
a powerful player in local search, taking it beyond directory listings
and making it easier than ever to find relevant, helpful information
about local businesses, products and services. Along with an approach
that makes local search uniquely relevant for consumers, our
pay-per-call technology enables Local.com to give businesses phone
calls in addition to clicks."
"Jambo gives us a turnkey pay-per-call solution, putting Local.com
at the forefront of the newest advancement in online advertising to
date," said Peter Hutto, Vice President of Business Development &
Sales for Interchange. "Jambo's unique 'automatic inclusion' approach
to pay-per-call facilitates the widest possible market acceptance of
this technology, with minimal effort required by our advertisers. It
makes it seamless for advertisers to gain phone leads online and
expands our revenue potential by proactively selling on our behalf --
so we don't have to."
Local.com provides a user-friendly search format rather than a
directory structure. Its information is updated regularly and
incorporates more than 15 million businesses plus the local web --
information contained on websites that are geographically local to
each search. This combination provides a much broader range of
fresher, relevant local information than traditional Yellow Pages
sites, including links to reviews, maps, directions, sales circulars,
reservation services and much more.
Interchange recently reported that the Local.com site has been
released from beta. For the month of January 2006, Local.com reached
more than 8 million unique monthly visitors and more than 39 million
page views, up from 6.9 million unique visitors and 33 million page
views in December 2005.
