iManage Announces Integrated Support for Adobe Acrobat
New Capabilities Extend Comprehensive Management of PDF Documents Within iManage
WorkSite
FOSTER CITY, Calif., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iManage, Inc. , a leading
provider of collaborative content management software for global enterprises,
today announced fully integrated support for Adobe Acrobat within the iManage
WorkSite(TM) suite. The new functionality allows users to open and save PDF
documents directly to an iManage WorkSite repository from inside the Adobe PDF
authoring tool.

Adobe Acrobat products allow businesses to simplify their document processes by
enabling the reliable and efficient exchange of business-critical documents
using Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). The PDF format has established
itself as an e-document standard in businesses because it maintains a document's
integrity while still being convenient for viewing, printing and distribution.
The format is especially useful because it allows documents to be saved with no
edit capabilities, which helps ensure that records remain in their original form
in compliance with regulatory requirements.
While iManage has always supported Adobe Acrobat files, iManage WorkSite now
offers seamless integration, similar to its support of Microsoft Office
applications, in the full Adobe Acrobat product. Users are now able to access
"Open from iManage" and "Save to iManage" options within Acrobat, greatly
simplifying the process of authoring, managing and creating workflows around PDF
documents within the context of related content for a given project, deal or
matter. Integrated support for Acrobat is available in the latest releases of
iManage MailSite and DeskSite.
"In today's business environment PDF files play an essential role in electronic
communications, and recognizing this, we have extended our solution to simplify
integrating PDFs with all other content our customers use," said Dan Carmel,
vice president of Marketing and Corporate Strategy for iManage. "By enabling
team members to have one workspace where all content can be created, stored,
edited and re-used, iManage WorkSite can help save time and raise productivity
individually and company-wide."
