Indus International Inc. (NASDAQ: IINT), a leading Service
Delivery Management (SDM) solution provider, today announced the
renewal of its contract for a comprehensive hosted enterprise asset
management (EAM) solution for Magnox Electric Limited (Magnox), one of
the United Kingdom’s leading nuclear
utilities. Magnox, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Nuclear Fuels
Limited (BNFL), originally signed a five-year contract in 2001 for a
hosted EAM solution to manage Magnox’s fleet
of plants throughout the United Kingdom. The new IndusHosting agreement
extends the original agreement through December 2008.
“Magnox was our first IndusHosting customer, a
testament to the faith the utility placed in our ability to deliver a
powerful hosted asset management solution fully supported by the company
that designed and built it,” said IndusHosting
Senior Director Jeff Hebert. “This extension
of our original agreement shows their faith was not misplaced. It is a
testament to the reliable service and return on investment that
IndusHosting has provided to Magnox over the past five years –
and continues to provide. The IndusHosting solution provides a high
level of customer satisfaction, consistently meeting or exceeding our
service level agreement even in the very demanding nuclear industry.”
Magnox chose the Indus solution as the work management and compliance
system for its Dungeness A, Oldbury, Bradwell, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd,
Wylfa, Hinkley A and Berkeley sites located across England and Wales. To
help control costs while facilitating a smooth and rapid implementation
of the new system, Magnox employed the IndusHosting solution to provide
users the best possible experience as they utilize the application in
the course of their daily activities. Through IndusHosting, Magnox has
been able to maintain the application at the latest release level to
ensure the highest possible return on their initial investment.
“The IndusHosting solution was an important
investment in meeting our future goals and regulatory demands on our
company in achieving operational excellence,”
said Dr. Chris Marchese, Chief Nuclear Officer, Reactor Sites, Magnox. “Our
focus at Magnox is on maintaining our high levels of environmental and
safety performance and maximizing output over the remaining lifetimes of
our stations. The Indus solution affords us a system that is on the
leading edge of nuclear power plant compliance management. Delivering
that system to our users via the IndusHosting model has provided us with
greater flexibility to comply with safety and environmental regulations
throughout the stations’ lifecycles, as well
as through the decommissioning process.”
Magnox is a member of the Indus Nuclear
Leadership Council (NLC), which meets regularly to discuss nuclear
industry business drivers and identify strategies that leverage Indus
solutions to support corporate growth and operational excellence goals.
As an NLC member, Magnox can leverage the experience of other Indus
clients and also work with the Indus nuclear community to provide input
on development priorities that address future nuclear industry business
drivers.
Indus President and CEO Greg Dukat added, “The
decision by one of the leading nuclear power generation utilities in the
UK to implement a hosted asset management solution is further validation
of Indus’ leadership in the nuclear EAM
market and of the hosted delivery model. This solution allows Magnox to
benefit from the advanced functionality of the industry’s
leading asset management system, ensuring that Magnox can easily
leverage future advances in our technology across its multiple sites
with minimal disruption to their day-to-day operation.”
Indus is delivering an extensive set of EAM capabilities to Magnox via
IndusHosting, including work management, inventory management, document
management and engineering change. The solution also includes an
extensive data warehouse, as well as search and mobile computing
capabilities and integration to a third-party ERP solution, among other
features.
