Historical Stock Chart
From Jul 2019 to Jul 2024
Indus International Inc. (NASDAQ: IINT), a leading
Service Delivery Management (SDM) solution provider, today convened
its annual Nuclear Leadership Council (NLC) forum here in the
company's global headquarters. Indus clients operate more than 118,000
MW of commercial nuclear power plants and many government research
reactors, and the great majority of these operators will be
represented in the session. Over the next two days, nearly two dozen
of the nuclear industry's asset manager leaders will discuss nuclear
industry business drivers and identify strategies that leverage Indus
solutions to support their corporate growth and operational excellence
goals.
Sponsored by Indus, a company with more than 20 years experience
supporting nuclear power providers, the NLC forum features industry
leaders from both operational and technology organizations, from
C-level executives to directors of IT. Gregory Smith, Senior VP of
Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG) and Chairman of the NLC, will join
Terry Maxey, Indus VP of Utility Solutions, to lead a discussion of
opportunities to improve key business processes such as Corrective
Action Program, fleet management, equipment reliability and vintage
management. In addition, Dennis Legere, Director of Outages and Work
Control for Entergy Nuclear Operations, and John Smith, Director of
Nuclear IT for Entergy Nuclear South, will provide an update on the
recent upgrade of Entergy plants to the latest release of Indus Asset
Suite. There will also be a session on leveraging Indus Asset Suite to
support the construction of new nuclear plants and best practices for
preparing combined license (COL) applications. Furthermore, Indus
nuclear customers from Canada, Hungary, Romania, UK and the U.S. will
discuss their strategic imperatives, offer product development input
to Indus and trade best practices based on real-world experience.
"The Indus Nuclear Leadership Council provides a unique forum
where a group of nuclear executives can gather to collaborate on the
key asset management issues facing our industry," said OPG's Smith.
"Indus has consistently delivered powerful solutions to the industry
by engaging directly with the community and being flexible to the
demands of the industry. Indus has shown they are more than a software
vendor - they are a true partner to the nuclear industry. Sponsoring
this event and sharing their 20 years of expertise in the industry
with the council demonstrates that Indus is dedicated to working with
us to overcome obstacles and achieve ever greater levels of
operational excellence."
"Business drivers such as operations excellence, regulatory
compliance, aging workforce and aging assets are forcing utilities to
rethink work and asset management processes and systems," said Rick
Nicholson, vice president of Research for Energy Insights, an IDC
Company. "The ability to leverage business best practices among peers
to drive the evolution of work and asset management solutions is
critically important if utilities are to meet the challenges of these
increasingly demanding business drivers."
Continuing Record of Excellence
One of the main purposes of the NLC forum is for members to share
best practices implemented via Indus solutions and to strategize ways
to multiply these successes in the future. Indus clients have
experienced tremendous performance utilizing Indus solutions in the
past year, including the following examples:
-- Entergy Upgrades Work and Supply Chain Management. Entergy
recently went into full production on the latest enterprise
asset management (EAM) software from Indus, implementing a
single Indus supply chain solution across their regulated
utility business and standardizing and upgrading the work
management systems in their Southern Nuclear stations. The
next phase of the project is to replace the varied work
management and supply chain systems in their unregulated
Northeast Nuclear Stations to standardize the entire nuclear
fleet on Indus solutions.
-- Ontario Power Generation (OPG) Continues Performance
Improvements in Generation. For the six months ended June 30,
2006, OPG increased its net income to $342 million compared to
$25 million for the same period last year. The company
credited the increase due to the favorable impact of an
increase in gross margin from electricity sales primarily due
to higher nuclear generation compared to the same period in
2005.
-- Paks NPP Streamlines Business Process on Indus. PAKS Nuclear
Power Plant (Paks NPP) rolled out an Indus asset management
solution to increase efficiency, improve reliability, reduce
operations and maintenance costs, minimize maintenance,
optimize inventory levels, ensure general safety and
regulatory compliance and extend the lifecycle of the plant.
-- Progress Energy Wins Edison Award. Progress Energy was
presented the Edison Award from the Edison Electric Institute
for the outstanding operation of the company's nuclear and
fossil generating plants, which are supported by Indus work
and asset management solutions. Using an enterprisewide Indus
asset management solution, Progress Energy standardized
hundreds of nuclear operational procedures and business
processes for its nuclear fleet, resulting in significantly
reduced operating costs, increased net generation, improved
safety and reduced outage durations.
The work of the Indus NLC will help continue Indus' leadership in
driving operational excellence in the nuclear industry. Indus offers
the only comprehensive asset management solution that enables the
deployment of best practices standardization across an entire nuclear
fleet, enabling efficiencies far beyond those achievable by a single
power plant. Furthermore, utilizing the services-oriented Indus
Foundation Architecture, Indus solutions for nuclear generation offer
the ability to accelerate business benefits and reduce the complexity
of business processes via an easy-to-use, tailorable graphical user
interface. As a result, best practices can be easily standardized
across the entire fleet, and integrated with engineering design tools,
financial systems, enterprise resource planning packages and other
third-party applications.
"The nuclear industry has established a continuing track record of
outstanding performance, safety and reliability, as our Nuclear
Leadership Council members have clearly demonstrated," said Indus'
Maxey. "We at Indus are proud to have contributed to this history of
excellence through our innovative solutions and deep knowledge of the
industry, and we are committed to continuing to help our nuclear
clients grow and thrive in the future."
