Inovis Sells Managed EC Business to Internet Commerce Corporation
(ICC)
Inovis Divests Business to Focus on Technology Solutions
ATLANTA, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Inovis, a leading provider of
business-to-business solutions and services, announced today that Internet
Commerce Corporation (NASDAQ:ICCA) has acquired Inovis' Managed EC(TM) (MEC)
business. Under the terms of the agreement, Internet Commerce Corporation
(ICC) assumes full control of the MEC operation effective immediately.
Inovis acquired the MEC business through its merger with QRS Corporation in
November 2004. MEC offers electronic data interchange (EDI) service bureau
services to companies primarily in the general merchandise and apparel segment.
"ICC is a long-time, trusted partner of Inovis, and we believe this is a win
for Managed EC customers, who will benefit by becoming part of an organization
where a service bureau approach is a key part of their current and future
operations," said Sean Feeney, president and chief executive officer of Inovis.
"This agreement also marks the final divestiture related to the QRS
acquisition."
On a combined basis, ICC will be one of the largest providers of EDI service
bureau services for the retail industry in North America.
"ICC is very excited about this acquisition, as it represents a strategic
opportunity for ICC to significantly expand our already strong EDI service
bureau business," said Thomas J. Stallings, chief executive officer of ICC. "We
are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for all MEC
customers. We will be working closely with our partner Inovis to ensure a
seamless transition."
Concurrently, both companies announced a two-year extension to their existing
interconnect services agreement.
