      Through its Family Services of Metro Orlando (FSMO) affiliate, Kids Hope 
      United cares for 3,200 children in Florida’s 
      Orange and Osceola counties. To keep close track of children in its 
      system – and to regularly measure the 
      performance of FSMO and its subcontractors – 
      Kids Hope United recently deployed Hyperion System 9 BI+ software from 
      Hyperion (Nasdaq Global Select:HYSL), the global leader in Business 
      Performance Management (BPM) software.
    
    
      The nationally acclaimed organization, with an annual operating budget 
      of $96 million, oversees the operations of FSMO, the state’s 
      leading not-for-profit agency dedicated to caring for abused, neglected 
      and abandoned children. FSMO contracts day-to-day fostering to case 
      management organizations (CMOs), whose performance Kids Hope United 
      measures with Hyperion System 9 BI+ software.
    
    
      As key players in Florida’s recently 
      privatized foster care management system, Kids Hope United and FSMO must 
      demonstrate it is consistently providing Florida’s 
      kids with quality service. With Hyperion software, the group has been 
      able to show that FSMO meets Florida state standards, measure the 
      success of CMOs in providing care for children, and enable FSMO leaders 
      to identify and address the root causes of problems and trends.
    
    
      The Hyperion solution gives FSMO managers dashboard-based views of the 
      entire adoption process, delivering pertinent and timely information 
      about the location and status of every child. The dashboards can track 
      kids from the point at which they enter the system to the day when they 
      are adopted—helping to prevent needy kids from 
      falling through the cracks. About 200 case managers and supervisors 
      across five CMOs also access the system.
    
    
      “With Hyperion System 9 BI+, we use computed 
      items to automatically answer many of the questions we have to answer 
      about a child, so that we can much more quickly locate him or her in our 
      system,” said Mark Monn, director of 
      performance management and research at Kids Hope United. “We 
      now have a map that shows where all our kids are and which case 
      management organizations are doing the best job of placing them.”
    
    
      Kids Hope United selected Hyperion System 9 BI+ over competing solutions 
      from Business Objects, Cognos and Microsoft. The Hyperion solution 
      streamlines and automates a data-intensive process that requires dozens 
      of small steps to process a child correctly. Previously, adoption 
      workers relied on Excel spreadsheets to sort data and perform counts. 
      But today, Hyperion software delivers a broader, richer view of
