Hyperion (Nasdaq Global Select:HYSL), the global leader in Business
Performance Management software, today announced that Heidi Melin and
Mercedes Ellison were both named Finalists in the “Best
Executive” category in The 3rd annual Stevie
Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives,
entrepreneurs, and the companies they run –
worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as “the
business world’s own Oscars.”
(New York Post, April 27, 2005).
More than 600 entries were submitted for consideration in more than 40
categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best
Community Involvement Program.
In less than a year and a half as chief marketing officer, Melin has
positioned Hyperion as the leading provider of performance management
software solutions by formulating and launching a new corporate brand
identity and revamping the company’s
positioning through new global advertising, public relations and analyst
relations programs. Within six months of her arrival, she re-engineered
the company’s go-to-market launch process and
was recognized by Hyperion executives and industry pundits for staging
the company’s most successful new product
introduction to date – Hyperion System 9.
As the vice president of global partner sales, Ellison leads a strategic
initiative for the company and her leadership has been instrumental in
helping to drive Hyperion’s growth and
position in the market. Her charter is to develop and market value-added
customer solutions with partners across product lines, market segments,
verticals and geographies. She is also responsible for successfully
developing the Hyperion partner ecosystem including the award winning
Hyperion Partner Program that currently boasts an ecosystem of over 700
partners around the world.
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during
preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished
Judges & Advisors and their staffs select Stevie Award winners from
among the Finalists during final judging.
“Being named a Finalist in The Stevie Awards
for Women in Business is an important achievement,”
said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “It
means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee
is worthy of recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their
achievement and wish them well in the competition.”
