Hong Kong Highpower Technology, Inc. Awarded International Product Mark Certificate for Its Ni-MH Batteries

   Hong Kong Highpower Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: HPJ), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable batteries and related products, announced today that its Ni-MH batteries were qualified and awarded an International Product Market Certificate.

Hong Kong Highpower's Ni-MH batteries are now qualified to use the International Standard (IEC 61951-2-2003) product mark. The Company received the International Standard Product Marking Certificate and International Standard Product Authorization Certificate in Guangdong Province. These were issued by the Standardization Administration of The People's Republic of China, Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Guangdong Province. For products to receive this important designation, the products must adapt to international standards or advanced foreign standards and their quality must reach international advanced level or GB level.
