Highpower International Announces Appointments to Senior Management Team

Highpower International, Inc.

 (NASDAQ: HPJ), a developer, manufacturer and marketer of nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and related products, today announced the promotion of Michael Wang to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and the appointment of Bin Ran as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Human Resources.

Mr. Wang joined Highpower International in 2009 and has helped lead the company's growing presence in the global battery market. Previously Mr. Wang worked in various positions, including Director of Marketing at Vale Inco, a NYSE listed company. Mr. Wang received a master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology and received a second master's degree of Enterprise Management from University of International Business and Economics of China.

Mr. Ran joined Highpower International in 2010. Prior to joining the company, he was General Manager at Shenzhen Joint Financial Group and has also served as a management consultant for various companies. Mr. Ran received a bachelor degree in Electrochemistry of Chemical Engineering from Sichuan Light Chemical Engineering Institute.
