Haggar Chief Marketing Officer, Alan Burks, Named in Power List of Men's Fashion
Industry's Most Influential Movers-and-Shakers
DNR Power 100 List Names Burks for Third Consecutive Year
DALLAS, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Haggar Clothing Co. chief marketing
officer, Alan Burks, has again been named in DNR magazine's (Daily News Record
Men's Wear News and Trends) annual Power 100 List, released Monday, October 27,
2003. The DNR Power 100 List features the men's fashion industry's most
influential movers-and-shakers of the past year.
Burks makes the list for the third consecutive year by ranking 39 out of 100.
Burks is in good company with other men's wear movers and shakers such as Ralph
Lauren (#1), Giorgio Armani (#2), Tommy Hilfiger (#7), Kenneth Cole (#19),
Donatella Versace (#51) and The Nordstroms (#67).
Burks was recognized as the spark behind creative advertising and licensing
deals for Haggar. DNR highlighted the new Kenneth Cole pants license as the
company's biggest deal of the year with the addition of the Kenneth Cole New
York(R) and Reaction Kenneth Cole(R) labels. Burks is also credited for many
other behind the scenes successes covering everything that includes
merchandising, marketing and selling of Haggar(R) branded clothing as well as
Claiborne(R), Kenneth Cole New York(R) and Reaction Kenneth Cole(R) men's
classification pants.
Announced in October 2000, Liz Claiborne Inc. and Haggar Clothing Co. entered a
license agreement for Haggar to manufacture and market dress pants, casual pants
and shorts under the Claiborne(R) brand label. The collection began shipping in
the fall of 2000 to key retailers offering consumers the style, sophistication
and renowned fit of the Claiborne(R) brand.
Kenneth Cole Productions announced in December 2002 that it was entering into a
licensing agreement with Haggar Clothing Co. Haggar manufactures, markets and
distributes Kenneth Cole New York(R) tailored pants, Kenneth Cole New York(R)
classification pants and Reaction Kenneth Cole(R) classification pants in the
United States. The fall 2003 line is currently offered at better department
stores and Kenneth Cole and Reaction retail stores.
