Kelly, Lawner, Hamlin, Favat and Staffen Step up and Set the Stage
for Agency's Future
Arnold Worldwide has announced a number of high-level promotions,
recognizing several key executives' contributions to revenue growth,
creative product and integrated client offerings and setting the stage
for the next generation of leadership at the agency.
Fran Kelly has been named chief executive officer, Arnold US. Ron
Lawner has been named vice chairman and global chief creative officer,
Arnold Worldwide Partners. Pam Hamlin and Pete Favat have been charged
with running the Boston office, with Hamlin as president and Favat as
chief creative officer. John Staffen has been named chief creative
officer of Arnold's New York office. A search is underway for a
president in New York to partner with Staffen.
"Fran and Ron have made outstanding contributions to Arnold over
the last decade. I know Fran will continue to do great things
overseeing all aspects of our US operation," said Ed Eskandarian,
Chairman and CEO of Arnold Worldwide Partners. "Over his career, Ron
has set the gold standard for creative work. In his new role, Ron will
be dedicated to providing creative leadership to our partner agencies
around the world and building our creative reputation globally." Kelly
and Lawner will report to Eskandarian.
Of the new leadership team under Kelly, Eskandarian commented, "I
have every confidence that this team has the right stuff to take us
successfully into the future. They have a track record of delivering
results and producing outstanding creative work -- of working and
winning together --and the talent it takes to continue to propel
Arnold forward."
Formerly president and COO, Kelly also held management
responsibilities for Arnold's New York office. Kelly joined Arnold in
1994. In his new role, he will be responsible for all client,
operational and leadership initiatives in Arnold's US offices: Boston,
NY, and Washington DC. The author of the world-famous Volkswagen
tagline "Drivers wanted," Ron has built an impressive list of high
profile campaigns that have garnered virtually every prestigious award
in the industry.
In their new roles, Hamlin and Favat in Boston and Staffen and a
to-be-named president in NY will oversee the day-to-day operations of
the agency, including account management, marketing, media, research,
creative and integrated communication offerings.
"The pairing of an account and creative team to run the Boston and
NY offices reflects Arnold's modern operating model at its best," said
Fran Kelly, Arnold CEO. "We live at the intersection of smart business
ideas, best-in-class creative and 360 marketing. Pam, Pete and John
will deliver this vision consistently across all initiatives - as they
have for their current clients."
