GoRemote Extends Leadership and Vision for Secure, Managed
Broadband Network Services
GoRemote Branch Office 3.0 Managed IP VPN Service Will Uniquely Offer New
Value-Added Services to Customers
Retail Systems 2005, CHICAGO, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- GoRemote Internet
Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:GRIC), a leading provider of secure, managed
broadband network services, today announced the addition of new value-added
services to the GoRemote Branch Office service, thereby extending its
leadership position in delivering fully managed broadband IP VPN services. In
addition to offering the industry's only end-to-end Internet Service Level
Agreement (SLA), GoRemote combines its comprehensive, nationwide and
international broadband coverage with unique real-time management and
monitoring capabilities and complete managed security services. This compelling
solution provides a platform that supports value-added IP VPN products and
services, including application quality of service (QoS), Voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) and web filtering.
"Customers are replacing their traditional data services, such as dial, frame
relay and satellite, with high-speed IP VPN services because they are more cost
effective and easier to manage and implement," said Tom Thimot, president and
CEO of GoRemote. "The usage of these converged IP networks and value-added
network services allow customers to bring new business-critical applications
online faster, at a lower cost and with a quicker return on investment.
Leveraging our proven technology and core competency in IP VPN networks,
GoRemote continues to lead the way in secure, managed broadband services."
Value From Added Services
GoRemote Branch Office 3.0 will offer several new value-added services:
-- Application Quality of Service (QoS) -- Optimize the performance of
business-critical applications by ensuring that bandwidth resources are
allocated appropriately. Control network congestion, traffic latency and
application response times. Further protect networks and applications while
controlling malicious traffic such as viruses and worms.
-- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) -- Converged IP communications solutions
integrate voice and data infrastructures on a single network, enabling
companies to enhance productivity, simplify management and reduce costs.
-- Expanded Enterprise-class IP VPN deployment offerings -- GoRemote secure
managed broadband network services are deployed using best-in-class enterprise
VPN systems from vendors like Cisco, Juniper and SonicWALL. GoRemote is pleased
to expand its service offerings with ZyXEL Communications, a premier provider
of broadband networking solutions, with an award-winning line of security
products and enterprise-class solutions.
"Our partnership with GoRemote provides enterprise-class security options at an
affordable price. Data security and business efficiencies continue to be
critical operational imperatives for enterprises. We look forward to offering
our solutions in partnership with GoRemote," said Munira Brooks, vice president
of sales, marketing and business development, ZyXEL Communications.
-- Web Filtering -- Maximize employee productivity and minimize corporate
security risks and exposure to legal liability. Control corporate Internet
access in accordance with corporate policies and manage employee access to
online advertisements, message boards, freeware/software downloads, online
trading sites and instant messaging. Protect networks from peer-to-peer (P2P)
sites that are commonly used for downloading copyrighted music and video, which
consumes essential bandwidth needed for critical business applications and can
also pose legal liability and corporate confidentiality issues.
Proven IP VPN Solution
Features and capabilities of the GoRemote Branch Office service include:
-- Most extensive broadband coverage -- Maximum use of broadband, DSL and cable
access from 150 "last mile" service providers to implement a cost- effective
virtual network, allowing customers to obtain the most extensive broadband
coverage available from a single provider, using a single contract, helpdesk
and invoice.
-- Proactive network management -- GoRemote Universal Remote Control is the
industry's first and only real-time remote network management console. Up/down
and impacted service conditions (excessive latency, excessive packet loss,
excessive usage and dial backup condition) are monitored around the clock.
Trouble tickets are automatically opened. Typically 99 percent of network
service events are detected and corrected before they affect users.
-- Internet SLA -- A comprehensive end-to-end Internet SLA that delivers up to
99.99 percent availability with 12 metrics that are measured and reported
monthly. Included in the agreement are revenue credits for below objective
performance.
-- End-to-end network reporting -- Both real-time and historical graphical
reporting is now available for all branch office to headquarters network paths.
Reporting data is maintained online for more than three years and can be
exported to Microsoft Excel for custom reporting and graphing.
-- Seamless security -- GoRemote Total Security Protection, an included
component of GoRemote Branch Office, forms a seamless, end-to-end security
barrier around extended enterprise networks by using leading security
technologies, including fully managed IPSec VPNs and hardware-based stateful
inspection firewalls.
Proven Benefits
GoRemote Branch Office customers realize many benefits, including:
-- Rapid provisioning and deployment -- Typically, the GoRemote Branch Office
service can be up and running in 90 days or less. GoRemote's experience and
customer-focused approach enables it to deliver rapid and cost-effective
services by working with the customer through the entire cycle -- including
system and enterprise network design, implementation, project management and
24/7 monitoring and support.
-- Dramatically reduce costs -- Customers can reduce legacy connectivity
service costs by up to 70 percent and achieve a high return on their
investment. GoRemote customers typically recoup their investment in the first
year following network deployment.
-- Deploy new business-critical applications -- GoRemote's always-on, managed
IP VPN networks deliver the bandwidth required for new applications such as
real-time inventory and Point-of-Sale (POS) information, video surveillance,
WiFi hotspots and VoIP.
-- Increase productivity and operational efficiencies -- The GoRemote Branch
Office service improves intra-company communications, enhances vendor and
customer relationships, streamlines processes and ultimately provides the
potential to increase revenue and profitability. In addition, it frees IT staff
to focus on other projects.
