Goody's Family Clothing Announces a Short Delay in Reporting Financial Results for the Third Quarter of 2005

With the signing on October 27, 2005, of a definitive agreement providing for affiliates of GMM Capital LLC and Prentice Capital Management, LP to acquire Goody's, the Company will be delayed in releasing its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2005. The Company now expects to release financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2005 by Wednesday, November 23, 2005. The Company had previously announced that its financial results would be released on Wednesday, November 16, 2005.
