Goody's Family Clothing Announces Resignation of Executive Vice
President Merchandising 


KNOXVILLE, Tenn., June 16  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goody's Family Clothing,
Inc. (NASDAQ:GDYS) today announced the resignation of Max Jones, Executive Vice
President Merchandising, effective June 14, 2005. Fred Mershad, President and
Chief Merchandising Officer, will now have direct responsibility for the
leadership of the Merchandise organization.
