This school year, close to 30 schools in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area will have a surprise addition to their budgets, courtesy of Frontier Communications (NASDAQ:FTR). The telecommunications company is marking their commitment to the community by donating over $32,000 to area high schools.

Beginning in August, Frontier will provide individual high schools with $1,250 in donations. The company will present the checks to each school during their football games, where students and members of the community can witness and be a part of the excitement. This initiative is part of Frontier’s local engagement model, a pillar of their company culture that calls for the company’s local leadership and workforce to have an active involvement in their community.

Frontier’s new area public relations manager, Gordon Shattles will be spearheading this initiative.

“As both a Frontier South team member and a member of the community, this initiative means a lot to me,” said Shattles. “With this donation, we’re sure that these schools will be able to improve their facilities and education programs in a variety of ways, and I hope it will help to continue improve support for STEM programs in each school, a cause that Frontier and I feel strongly about.”

This is just the first of several education-related initiatives that Frontier has planned for the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
