First Avenue Networks Relocates Headquarters to Northern Virginia
Company Appoints Key Executives to Support Growth and Operations
MCLEAN, Va., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First Avenue Networks
(NASDAQ:FRNS), a wireless carrier's carrier, today announced that it has
relocated its corporate headquarters to Tysons Corner, the center of the Dulles
Technology Corridor, in McLean, Virginia. This announcement follows the
company's recent listing on the NASDAQ National Market and the appointment of
several key executives.
"Northern Virginia is a hotbed for technology growth and home to some of the
world's largest telecommunications companies. This region was the logical
destination for relocating First Avenue," said Dean Johnson, president and CEO,
First Avenue Networks.
"Our official relocation follows the appointment of several new members to our
management team. We expanded our team to include industry veterans who bring
strong operational backgrounds as well as key customer contacts. These
appointments are an important part of our execution strategy to offer rapidly
deployable, highly reliable and flexible solutions for mobile backhaul, fiber
network extensions and broadband connectivity," continued Johnson.
The addition of Robert Beran to First Avenue's executive ranks reinforces the
company's commitment to offering unique carrier-grade solutions. As senior vice
president, Beran is responsible for staffing and leading First Avenue's
day-to-day operations, which includes overseeing the sales, business
development, product marketing, service delivery and customer care functions at
the company's new headquarters. Beran brings over 20 years of leadership
experience to First Avenue, the majority of which he garnered as a senior
executive at GE and Bell Atlantic/Verizon.
"First Avenue Networks' extensive spectrum holdings uniquely position the
company to provide carriers with alternatives to leased facilities," said
Beran. "In preparation for delivering customized networks, we will continue to
build our operations and management team. Our new headquarters in Northern
Virginia will provide us with access to some of the industry's highest quality
fixed and wireless communications professionals."
First Avenue has operational networks across the country utilizing its 24 GHz
and 39 GHz spectrum in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint
configurations. This includes the D.C. Metro area where the company recently
appointed Joseph M. Sandri, Jr. in the dual capacity of senior vice president,
government affairs, and president of the solutions subsidiary. Sandri was
previously with IDT/Winstar in a similar capacity.
As part of focusing its sales efforts, First Avenue hired Michael P. Lanza as
vice president of sales, to lead the company's initiatives in the Northeast
where it currently operates a mobile backhaul network in New York City. A
member of the senior management team of several high-growth telecommunications
corporations, Lanza brings over 20 years of sales leadership to his role at
First Avenue Networks.
"We've added exceptional talent and experience to our leadership team, which
has provided us with the depth we need to execute our carrier-centric
strategy," concluded Johnson.
First Avenue Networks' new offices are located at 7925 Jones Branch Drive,
