announced the availability of its next generation production messaging
service. EasyLink Production Messaging 2.0 Service offers customers an
integrated "toolbox" of capabilities to manage the process of creating
and distributing transaction documents electronically, replacing paper
based processes and in-house infrastructure.
   Companies of all sizes can use EasyLink Production Messaging 2.0
Service to eliminate or reduce the number of steps and degree of human
intervention involved in producing and distributing business
documents, gaining the benefits of lower cost, greater productivity,
easier regulatory compliance management, and improved customer
service. Typical business applications include electronic distribution
of purchase orders, invoices, financial statements, trade
confirmations, price notifications and travel or shipping documents.
The service supports a wide range of document formats, such as TIFF,
PDF, and XML, and multiple delivery channels including fax, e-mail,

   EasyLink Production Messaging 2.0 Service is fully-configurable to
the customer's environment and integrates easily with back and
front-office systems as well as archiving and records compliance
management solutions. Specialized development teams in the United

submit source data to the EasyLink network in virtually any format and
from multiple sources, and can choose from a full set of document

   One of the first customers of EasyLink Production Messaging 2.0
Service, a large international bank, needed a more cost-efficient way
to securely distribute statements to clients all over the world. Bank
personnel were manually preparing, securing, and distributing these
statements, resulting in a slow, error-prone, and costly business
process. An EasyLink Production Messaging 2.0 application was
developed in close coordination with the customer to receive an XML
data feed directly from the bank and convert it into two electronic
documents with custom layout, logos, and security protection. The
first document is a non-editable electronic statement, and the second
is a spreadsheet that can be imported into a customer's personal
accounting application. These documents are packaged into a single
e-mail message, delivered to the recipient e-mail addresses contained
in the original XML feed, and tracked through EasyLink-provided
administrative tools.
