Engineered Support Receives $7.2 Million Order for U.S. Army's Knight Precision Targeting System ST. LOUIS, July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered Support Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:EASI) received a $7.2 million order for the Knight Precision Targeting System from the U.S. Army's Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan. Engineered Support's wholly-owned subsidiary Systems & Electronics Inc. (SEI) will produce 31 Fire Support Sensor System (FS3) equipped Mission Equipment Packages (MEPs) and miscellaneous spares at its St. Louis and West Plains, MO facilities. Deliveries are scheduled to occur between November 2006 and July 2007. Knights are currently deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, according to Engineered Support Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Gerald A. "The commitment by the DoD of supplemental spending for this order demonstrates the priority our military places on the advanced technology in fire support solutions that Engineered Support, through SEI, provides to our nation's deployed warfighters," Potthoff said. About Knight The Knight MEP is a precision targeting system consisting of a laser designator/rangefinder, thermal imager, digital command and control, blended inertial/Global Positioning System navigation and targeting, and a self defense weapon. Its mission is to provide precision far target location and laser target designation for both artillery and air-delivered general purpose and precision-guided munitions.
