Edy's and Stop & Shop/Giant Food Free Scoop Day to Support Pediatric Cancer Charities

Free Ice Cream to Benefit Children's Cancer Research 


OAKLAND, Calif., May 8  /PRNewswire/ -- Ice cream has a special way of bringing out the best in people and Edy's Grand Ice Cream is hoping its Limited Edition flavor, Triple Winner Neapolitan in combination with a FREE SCOOP DAY at all Stop & Shop and Giant Food locations, does just that and more to support pediatric cancer charities.

In conjunction with Stop & Shop and Giant Food's Triple Winner Game, EDY'S will offer a free scoop of ice cream on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 1 to 5 p.m. at all Stop & Shop and Giant Food locations.  Anyone who donates one dollar to The Jimmy Fund, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center or the Children's Cancer Foundation will receive a free scoop of ice cream.

This is the second year in a row that EDY'S and Stop & Shop/Giant Food have joined forces and offered this special ice cream incentive.  In addition, EDY'S(R) Triple Winner Neapolitan ice cream, now available in all Stop & Shop/Giant Food stores, will help generate a maximum donation of $25,000 from EDY'S to benefit the children's cancer charities of the Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center, The Jimmy Fund and the Children's Cancer Foundation. Made with EDY'S signature vanilla ice cream, creamy chocolate and scrumptious strawberry ice cream, Triple Winner Neapolitan provides a triple treat to tempt ice cream lovers' taste buds. The flavor is available only at Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores and has a suggested retail value of $5.99

Now in its 17th year, The Triple Winner Program will raise $5.25 million to save lives and make a difference in its efforts to fight pediatric cancer. Since its inception in 1991, the Triple Winner Program has raised $38 million to support research and care.
