Item 7.01		Regulation FD Disclosure.

     On July 28, 2011, Delta Petroleum Corporation issued a press release announcing that it retained Netherland Sewell & Associates, Inc. to provide independent engineering of Delta’s proved, probable and possible reserves and resources in support of Delta’s strategic alternatives process. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.

     Delta, together with its financial advisor, Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc., has prepared an Overview Memorandum (“OM”), which will be used in connection with the previously announced strategic alternatives process. The OM will be available in the “Strategy Discussion” section, under the “About Delta” section, on the Company’s website (www.deltapetro.com).
