Gordano and Commtouch (Nasdaq:CTCH) are pleased to
announce their technology alliance, allowing Gordano Messaging Suite
(GMS) users to benefit from Commtouch's anti-spam and Zero-Hour(TM)
virus protection security. Commtouch's Recurrent Pattern Detection(TM)
proprietary technology combined with GMS allows stronger protection
for GMS' enterprise users, better securing their networks, servers,
and client computers.
The award-winning Gordano solutions protect over 50 million
mailboxes in over 100 countries.
"We chose Commtouch to enhance the GMS security features based not
only on Commtouch's unique approach to security technology, but also
because the technology requires hardly any resources," said John
Stanners, Managing Director of Gordano. "The RPD(TM) technology's low
footprint allows us to benefit from the high detection rates while
keeping our system efficient."
Commtouch's RPD technology deploys a unique approach to blocking
spam and the viruses often contained within spam messages. Rather than
filtering spam based on the content of email, Commtouch's software
proactively probes the Internet and analyzes the distribution patterns
of billions of messages each month, instantly identifying emerging
attacks. This blocks new outbreaks in real-time, whether they are
viruses, spam, phishing, fraud or any other type of malware.
Commtouch's approach results in a solution that is language and
format agnostic, protecting users from all types of spam, even
double-byte and triple-byte languages (e.g. Japanese and Thai), as
well as image-based spam.
"Our partnership with Commtouch broadens GMS's benefits to global
customers, as Commtouch's language-independent scanning ensures our
customers in all geographies receive the best in anti-spam protection
on the market," Stanners continues.
The pairing of Commtouch and GMS's technology provides highly
accurate spam detection, extremely low false positives and full user
control.
"Partnering with GMS allows enterprise users to reap the benefits
of our RPD technology," said Ronni Zehavi, VP of Business Development
at Commtouch. "In addition, GMS's small-to-medium sized business
customers also now enjoy more sophisticated protection without having
to build extensive security infrastructures."
