TCW Convertible Securities Fund changes name to TCW Strategic Income Fund

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TCW Convertible Securities Fund, Inc. (CVT) today announced it will change its name to TCW Strategic Income Fund, Inc. effective upon filing with the State of Maryland and notice to shareholders.

The name change reflects shareholders' approval last month of a proposal enabling CVT to expand the types of securities in which it can invest.

"We are changing the Fund's name to better reflect its expanded investment focus," said Alvin R. Albe Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer. "With an enhanced ability to invest in a broader array of securities, we are confident we can enhance the Fund's performance over time."

CVT is a closed-end fund listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The Fund began operations in March 1987 and currently has net assets of approximately $262 million.
