Ceres Group Names Ernie Giambra as Executive Vice President and
Chief Marketing Officer 


CLEVELAND, June 28  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ceres Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:CERG)
today announced that Ernie Giambra, 56, has been named executive vice president
and chief marketing officer of both its Medical and Senior Segments, effective
July 1, 2004.

Giambra has 35 years of sales experience in the insurance industry.  Most
recently, he operated his own consulting business for the insurance industry
and was also a financial advisor for Salomon Smith Barney (1998 to 2000) and
Wachovia Securities (2000 to 2004).  From 1993 to 1996, he was executive vice
president and chief marketing officer of Pioneer Financial Services, and from
1969 to 1993 he held various sales and marketing positions, including vice
president of sales, with Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
