RICHMOND, Va., April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cadmus Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:CDMS) today named Peter R. Hanson as Chief Operating Officer of Cadmus' Publisher Services Group, an approximately $350 million segment of Cadmus providing full service content processing, printing, and distribution services to scholarly, special interest, and book publishers. In this role, Mr. Hanson will have day-to-day operational responsibility for Cadmus' content and publications print operations in the United States, India, and Asia and will report to Bruce V. Thomas, Cadmus' President and Chief Executive Officer and Acting President of the Publisher Services Group. "Peter is an experienced executive with vast knowledge of our markets," said Mr. Thomas. "Peter has spent his entire career serving the publications market and will bring a very high level of operational experience and expertise to Cadmus. Particularly as we move toward completion of the comprehensive upgrade of our North American print platform, Peter will help us obtain maximum benefit from our new and much more efficient manufacturing capabilities. I am confident that he will be a strong and welcome addition to our team who will bring passion and enthusiasm for the business in his interactions with both customers and associates." Mr. Hanson, who served most recently as President of Banta Corporation's Publication Group, began his career at Combined Communications Service, where he served in various service and sales roles. In 1990, he joined Banta Corporation as a Regional Vice President of Sales in the Publication Group, was promoted to Group Vice President of Sales & Marketing, and finally was named President of the Publication Group in 2000. During his tenure as President, the Banta Publications Group achieved rapid growth and generated industry-leading margins, despite often difficult market conditions. Also during that time, Mr. Hanson successfully led several significant plant expansions and oversaw numerous and highly successful capital additions and equipment upgrades to Banta's publication print, distribution, and pre-press platforms. Mr. Hanson received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and currently resides in Chicago. He will be relocating and operate out of Cadmus' corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. "Cadmus ...
