SAP AG Deploys SPECTRUM(R) Integrity(TM)
Aprisma Solution Delivers 24x7 Network Performance Management, Guaranteeing
Voice and Data Reliability for SAP's Global Backbone
PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aprisma Management
Technologies, Inc., a Gores Technology Group, LLC Company, today announced that
SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, has
deployed Aprisma's SPECTRUM(R) Integrity(TM) as the primary 24x7 performance
management platform for its global operations backbone. SPECTRUM's root cause
analysis technology helps guarantee essential voice and data for approximately
30,000 employees in 150 branch offices, data centers in the Americas, and the
corporate headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.

"We rely on SPECTRUM to improve global LAN and WAN backbone operations," said
Horst Walter with the Network Operations Team at SAP's Walldorf headquarters.
"SPECTRUM Integrity delivers proactive notification of pending problems, and is
our primary source for actionable information. It makes our jobs easier and
gives us added confidence in our ability to meet the needs of our business
units."
SAP leverages several advanced SPECTRUM applications to provide around-
the-clock management capabilities across its multi-vendor, multi-technology
network -- supporting Siemens voice over IP (VoIP) devices, high-speed VPN
links, SAP(R) software solutions, and daily backups between remote data
centers. Routers and switches support a variety of technologies, including
Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 wireless, ATM, and Frame Relay. SPECTRUM Alarm
Notification Manager forwards device alarms to SAP's network operations team
via cell phones and pagers 24-hours-a-day, while SPECTRUM Watch Editor closely
monitors bandwidth usage statistics across the WAN.
"The SPECTRUM platform has further empowered us to play a proactive role with
our service providers," continued Walter. "SAP uses redundant WAN links to
connect important remote offices back into the corporate data centers. Before
deploying SPECTRUM Integrity, we had no sufficient visibility into the WAN and
no warning that it was experiencing stress until our users called to report
performance problems. With SPECTRUM, we've noticed a significant decrease in
mean time to repair (MTTR)."
SAP plans to make heavy use of the OneClick(TM) web interface and reporting
solutions. "OneClick's Service Views give our business units a customized view
into their specific network services," Walter stated. "We are looking forward
to the asset, availability, and utilization reports that will detail
information by geography and business function."
Commenting on Aprisma's technical support and development staff, Walter
concluded, "We appreciate Aprisma's open information policies, and have always
received fast and competent answers. The online users forums enable a valuable
exchange of technical tips. Fortunately, we haven't required much in the line
of professional services consulting to be successful with SPECTRUM Integrity.
However, we know we can always receive help when needed."
