FLINT, Mich., June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cathleen "Cathy" Nash has been appointed executive vice president, head of consumer banking for Citizens Banking Corporation (NASDAQ:CBCF). The announcement was made by William R. Hartman, chairman, president and CEO of the corporation. Hartman said Nash's responsibilities will include oversight of all retail branches, consumer lending and residential mortgage lending for the corporation. Nash will also direct marketing support and corporate communications as well as the product management function for the corporation. Nash will serve on the corporation's senior leadership team. "Cathy is a proven, transformational leader who will have a profound effect on achieving the goals set forth in our strategic plan for the corporation and the critical consumer banking line of business. Cathy's extensive background in branch banking, small business, private banking, product management and marketing combined with her passion and proven experience for client growth will enable Citizens to achieve its goal of becoming a preeminent consumer bank," said Hartman in announcing Nash's appointment. Nash brings 20 years of experience in consumer banking to Citizens. She joins the bank from SunTrust Corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia where she most recently served as senior vice president, director of branch banking overseeing the sales and operations strategy of 1,700 branch locations. With SunTrust for over 13 years, Nash served in a variety of positions. From 2001-2003, she served as executive vice president, director of retail banking, Florida directing over 425 branch locations in that state. She also served as senior vice president director of marketing in Florida. Previous to SunTrust, Nash held a number of positions for Bank of Boston in human resources as well as marketing. Nash holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida and a BS in Communications from Ithaca College.
