Broadwing (NASDAQ:BWNG)
Historical Stock Chart
From May 2019 to May 2024
Broadwing Communications, LLC, a consolidated subsidiary
of Broadwing Corporation (NASDAQ:BWNG), today announced that SEKO
Worldwide Inc., a global freight transportation and logistics
provider, has chosen Broadwing to provide a comprehensive suite of
business-critical communications services that include a corporate
MPLS virtual private network (VPN) with Internet access, collocation
facilities and remote data protection for disaster recovery.
SEKO is replacing its legacy 46-node frame relay network with
Broadwing's Converged Network Layer 3 Multiprotocol Label Switching
(MPLS) network solution. Broadwing's solution provides robust
any-to-any connectivity, comprehensive service interworking and
flexible Quality of Service (QoS) with guaranteed performance -- all
of which create an application delivery network immediately enabling
critical applications of data security, storage and disaster recovery,
and set the foundation for many enterprise applications, including
Voice and Video over IP.
"Moving from a traditional frame relay network to a new MPLS
network requires working with a service provider you can trust and we
believe Broadwing really listened to us to understand our needs," said
Tom Mazdy, Chief Information Officer at SEKO Worldwide. "Broadwing's
excellent support team, paired with its agility and innovative
technical solutions, really put it ahead of the competition and
enabled a smooth upgrade of our IT infrastructure."
"By using the latest technology to make information easy to
access, SEKO will continue to serve its customers with the best
possible solutions," said Scott Widham, co-CEO of Broadwing. "We are
proud to enable SEKO in their continued efforts to provide innovative,
first-class transportation services."
Customer wins like SEKO, Industry Retail Group and others are
evidence of the adoption of Broadwing's unique converged L2 VPLS and
L3 MPLS networking solution. The customer-driven growth of Broadwing's
Converged network and strategic agreements with complementary
suppliers including Hutchison Global Communications and Global
Crossing continues to illustrate the execution of Broadwing's
strategic vision of true telecom utility.
