Craft Brew Alliance, Inc. (“CBA”) (Nasdaq: BREW), a leading craft brewing company, announced today the appointments of two new members to the company’s Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2017. Nickolas A. Mills and Michael R. Taylor will fill two vacancies on CBA’s Board, including one vacancy arising from the departure of Thomas D. Larson, effective December 31, 2016.

“We are pleased to welcome Nick and Michael to CBA’s Board of Directors,” said David Lord, Chairman, Craft Brew Alliance Board of Directors. “Given CBA’s ongoing evolution and acceleration of its Kona Plus strategy, which combines leading national and lifestyle brands with distinctive regional owned and partner breweries, this is an ideal time to gain two beer industry veterans with specific experience creating operating efficiencies and shareholder value. I also want to thank Tom for his many years of service on the Board and dedication to CBA.”

Mr. Mills currently serves as a Vice President for The High End at Anheuser-Busch (A-B). His professional career at A-B includes the roles of Senior Brewmaster and Senior General Manager at the Baldwinsville Brewery, where he produced a wide variety of beer styles, including Goose Island and Blue Point beers, flavored malt beverages, and ciders. His prior experience includes various brewing positions in St. Louis, MO, Merrimack, NH, and Jacksonville, FL.

Mr. Taylor serves as a Vice President for the North America Zone of Anheuser-Busch, where he has been responsible for business development and partnerships for the U.S. and Canadian business units since December 2010. Since joining A-B in 2004, Mr. Taylor has held various roles in finance and real estate. Previously, he held various roles in accounting, treasury, M&A, and investor relations in other industries.

As part of CBA’s Amended and Restated Exchange and Recapitalization Agreement with Anheuser-Busch, LLC, A-B may designate two individuals as directors of CBA. Since September 2015, the sole A-B designee was Mr. Larson, who became a director in July 2011 after serving as lead internal counsel for all transactions between A-B and CBA since 1994.

About Craft Brew Alliance

Craft Brew Alliance is a leading craft brewing company, which brews, brands, and markets some of the world’s most respected and best-loved American craft beers.

The company is home to three of the earliest pioneers in craft beer: Redhook Ale Brewery, Washington’s largest craft brewery founded in 1981; Widmer Brothers Brewing, Oregon’s largest craft brewery founded in 1984; and Kona Brewing Company, Hawaii’s oldest and largest craft brewery founded in 1994. As part of CBA, these craft brewing legends have expanded their reach across the U.S. and approximately 30 international markets.

In addition to growing and nurturing distinctive brands rooted in local heritage, CBA is committed to developing innovative new category leaders, such as Omission Beer, which is the #1 beer in the gluten free beer segment, and Square Mile Cider, a tribute to the early American settlers who purchased the first plots of land in the Pacific Northwest.

Publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol BREW, CBA is headquartered in Portland, Ore., and operates five breweries and five pub restaurants across the U.S. For more information about CBA and its brands, please visit www.craftbrew.com.
