bcgi (NASDAQ: BCGI), a leading provider of products and
solutions that enable mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide to
differentiate their offerings and increase market penetration while
reducing costs, has been awarded the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Industry
Innovation & Advancement Award for earning its position as one of the
top mobile virtual network enablers (MVNEs) in the mobile virtual
network operator (MVNO) space.
"We're honored Frost & Sullivan chose bcgi as a recipient of this
award," said E.Y. Snowden, bcgi president and CEO. "With our proven
record supporting mobile network operators and MVNOs with a variety of
excellent services, such as prepaid and postpaid billing, access
management, payment and network session control, we are well
positioned to make the most of the MVNO opportunity."
Given the relative inexperience of MVNOs in the wireless business
space, it is prudent for them to outsource the technological and
operational aspects of the wireless service they wish to provide and
focus more on their core competency of branding and marketing the
service, according to Frost & Sullivan analysts.
"Extending its legacy managed services approach to MVNOs, bcgi
provides services to assist MVNOs in enabling rapid time-to-market,"
said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Samir Sakpal. "It also lowers
capital expenditure through shared risk and managed services business
model, provides operational and functional support, and offers
customer care and support applications."
While MVNOs focus on capturing market share through broad
marketing campaigns, it is imperative that they add value to their
services by offering feature rich, yet simple and easy to use,
wireless services. bcgi's MVNO Managed Services Suite enables critical
abilities for MVNOs to construct a solid value proposition around
their business, and apart from having serviced more than a dozen MVNOs
in the United States, bcgi recently extended its services to
international MVNO markets.
"MVNOs require bcgi's skills to progressively conduct business and
grow seamlessly in the marketplace, while providing the service
requirement of their target markets," Sakpal said. "The ability to do
so enables MVNOs to expand their subscriber base, provide value-added
differentiating services, and retain their brand solidarity in the
wireless services segment."
Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to a company that
has demonstrated excellence in all operations. The award is based on
numerous factors, including the company's business development,
competitive strategy and leadership within a particular Frost &
Sullivan industry research group. This company is perceived to exhibit
outstanding management, consistent growth and positive social and
economic impact on local and national communities.
