Avalon Pharmaceuticals to Present at BIO CEO & Investor Conference

GERMANTOWN, Md., Feb. 10  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avalon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq and ArcaEx(R): AVRX), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics, today announced that Kenneth C. Carter, Ph.D., President and CEO and Gary Lessing, Executive Vice President and CFO are scheduled to present and participate in panel discussions at the Eighth Annual BIO CEO & Investor Conference, being held February 14-15, 2006 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York.

On Tuesday, February 14th, Dr. Carter will provide a corporate overview and discuss the company's recent progress at 3:30 pm EST.
